The NC Resource Center provides regional child care health consultation services to 55 counties across North Carolina that do not have a local Child Care Health Consultant (CCHC). Nine Regional CCHCs provide health and safety support and guidance to child care facilities and collaborate with community partners.

What does a regional CCHC do?

CCHCs work with early care and education facilities to improve the health and safety of their programs. Contact a regional CCHC for:

  • Technical assistance
  • Materials and resources
  • Training and professional development
  • Support with policies and procedures
  • Health and safety assessments
  • Connections to community resources

How can a regional CCHC support early care and education programs?

Regional CCHCs offer support on these health and safety topics and more:

  • Illness and infectious disease
  • Environmental health
  • Children with special health care needs
  • Medication administration
  • Emergency preparedness, response, recovery
  • Physical activity, nutrition, and breastfeeding
