Childcare Sanitation Workshop – registration open!

March 24, 2022

Registration is now open for the NC Environmental Health State of Practice Committee Child Care Workshop. The workshop will be held virtually this year and the total cost will be $100. Child Care Health Consultants are highly encouraged to attend this workshop if they have not previously.

This 2 ½ day workshop has been designed for North Carolina environmental health specialists, child care development consultants, child care health consultants, school child care administrators responsible for the inspection, monitoring, evaluation, plan review, and grading of child care facilities in North Carolina. Supervisors or administrators who have consulting and decision-making responsibilities with specialists will also benefit from attending this program. There are new responsibilities ahead for environmental health specialists as both public and private school child care centers grow and expand their operations and are reopening after the pandemic.

The purpose of this workshop is to teach participants how to work effectively with the Division of Child Development and Early Education Regional Consultants, the Department of Insurance, Fire Marshals, and the Regional Specialists of Children’s Environmental Health while conducting thorough and professional child care inspections. This course also focuses on rule interpretation and policy procedures that can support and guide you in your daily work routine.
