     Jadie Baldwin-Hamm, MSW, CPS Policy Consultant, Safety and Prevention, Division of Social Services, Child Welfare, NC Department of Health and Human Services

     Rachel Zarcone, MSW, LCSW, Behavioral Health Clinical Consultant, State Adolescent Health Coordinator, Division of Child and Family Well-Being, Whole Child Health Section, NC Department of Health and Human Services

IV. Panel Discussion

            We will have panelists available to share their experiences and professional knowledge on the topics of child maltreatment, recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect, and the resources available to children, families, and early childhood educators. In addition, they have knowledge in areas of compassion fatigue, burnout, staff wellness, and resiliency.

           Our panel will include early childhood educators, mental health professionals, and representatives from Prevent Child Abuse, Child Advocacy Centers of NC, Child Welfare/Division of Social Services, and Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE).

V. Wrap-up and Evaluation

3 NCPD contact hours will be awarded to CCHC RN and Health Educators upon 100% attendance of live virtual session.

This educational activity is being jointly presented by the Public Health Nursing Institute for Continuing Excellence and the NC Child Care Health and Safety Resource Center, a project of UNC Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health. The Public Health Nursing Institute for Continuing Excellence is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
